In the midst.

So, as you guys already know, I'm in my first semester of architecture. AND CLEARLY, I've been busy, considering I haven't blogged for a good month plus. I finally get to blog since I have a weekend of no assignments and deadlines to drown in.

Design Communication 1st submission : 4 different shading techniques (TOP) // Different sketches of different areas on campus (BOTTOM)

So question : Is Architecture stressful?
Yes. It is. It definitely is, and you can take my word for it. Heck, I'm only in the first semester. But you know what? It's the good kind of stress. The creative kind, the wanting-to-do-so-well kind that you let it get to you. But I don't hate this stress. It's so much different from A-levels. I think the fact I really enjoy what I'm doing so far even though it's stressful, just drives me to want to not give up at it.

Design Studio 1st submission : "Representing Me"

In first semester, you are taught to discover yourself as a designer. Find out what you like and don't like. I think my favourite module so far would have to be Design Studio, eventhough it's the module that gives me the most stress. Simply because we challenge our creativity ALL THE TIME. Design never ends, that's what I've learned so far. But we need to know when to stop designing. Because EVERYTHING can be improved. It's just a matter of how much.

Building and Materials 1st Submission 

Actually, now that I think about it, I actually like all my modules. They all drive me creatively in a way. And that's what I enjoy the first semester of Architecture so far. The creative aspect of it. I don't have to sit down and read all the time (we do read a lot, regardless of what people say. Architect's that don't read is a BIG misconception).

 So for any of you guys out there thinking of doing Architecture, keep in mind that it's not easy, and takes up alot of your time. From what I can see, you only see architecture students in campus up till the wee hours of the morning. So think twice, but nevertheless, it's definitely a very fun course so far.
